I'm James Crooks, VP of Engineering at Litmus Health in Austin, Texas. I finished a PhD in Biophysical Sciences (i.e. Computational Biology) in 2015 at the University of Chicago, where I wrote a dissertation on the molecular physics of the T cell receptor, and a lot of data analysis and machine learning code. Academia and I weren't made for each other, however, and in graduate school I found that I really loved building tools and writing software, prompting the move to programming as a vocation and avocation. This blog is a collection of my thoughts on programming and the business of software.
